Its natural habitats are subtropical or tropical moist lowland forests, dry savanna, moist savanna, subtropical or tropical dry shrubland, subtropical or tropical moist shrubland, subtropical or tropical high-altitude grassland, swamps, freshwater marshes, intermittent freshwater marches, pastureland, rural gardens, heavily degraded former forest, ponds, and canals and ditches.
